Being a member of a Church is not some cold induction into an institution, but rather it means becoming a vital organ of a living body. Church membership should not be mistaken for paying dues, meaningless rituals and silly rules. It gives a Christian a sense of belonging, identity, accountability and commitment.

  • It identifies a person as a genuine believer; Romans 12:5.
  • It provides a spiritual family to support and encourage Christians in their walk with Christ; Galatians 6:1-2.
  • It gives Christians a place to discover and use their gifts in ministry; 1 Corinthians 12:4-27.
  • It places Christians under the spiritual protection of godly leaders; Hebrews 13:7.
  • It gives Christians the accountability they need to grow; James 5:16.
  • It gives Christians the opportunity to be nurtured up in the knowledge of the word; Jeremiah 3:15.

  • Any person professing faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; has evidence of regeneration; accepts the tenets of faith of WORD ETERNITY MINISTRIES INTERNATIONAL and is baptised by immersion shall upon registration be received as a member of MARVELOUS LIGHT ASSEMBLY.
  • Christians from other ministries or Churches may be received into the church as members. But there must be clear evidence to the fact that they are saved and baptized and are willing to accept the tenets of faith held by this ministry.

  • Every member should respect and obey the constituted authorities established in the Church.
  • Every member should constantly attend Church services and programmes.
  • Every member should belong to one of the three main groups in the Church (men, women and youths).
  • Every member should regularly pay his or her tithes.
  • Every member should always give his or her offerings cheerfully and bountifully.
  • Every member should support projects and events in the Church according to how God has blessed him or her.
  • Every member should inform the Church authority when travelling, either transferring or in the case of an emergency.
  • Every member must uphold the worship of God in holiness, love and prayer.

  • Any member with any spiritual gifts is allowed to exercise the gifts according to his or her proportion of faith. But all things must be done orderly as directed by the minister in charge.
  • No member or person shall be held as a slave, subjected to torture and to inhuman or degrading treatment in the Church.
  • Any member charged with an offence shall be informed promptly in the language that he understands. The details and nature of the offence should be communicated to him or her. He or she should be entitled to a fair hearing within a reasonable time by the appropriate constituted persons or bodies.
  • Death of member: Our realisation is that the family is senior to and separate from the Church. Therefore, upon the death of any member, the Church shall render help to the family for the burial of the dead and welfare for his or her immediate family. The amount and extent of the help shall be decided by the Church, and in accordance with what the Church can afford.
  • We promise to help one another during marriage ceremony, trial and sickness, persecution and temptation, distress and sorrow.
  • Any member who has potentials, talents, integrity and gifts can rise to any level in the Church setup as long as he follows the right procedures.
  • Every member has the right to report any threat that poses danger to the image of the Church. He or she can advise or counsel the constituted authorities on the matters that concern the life and character of the Church as long as it’s done politely, in the Spirit of love and through the right channels.
